Safeguarding Training for Andy's Man Club
In June this year we were invited to deliver training for Andy’s Man Club. AMC is a charity very close to our heart at SHS. We have supported them from the beginning and champion them where ever we go! Yes, my car is the one with stickers all over it! And you will be sure to get an AMC leaflet in your course info packs! So it was a real honour to be able to deliver their safeguarding training at their Halifax HQ. Thankyou to all the wonderful team for having me – it was a brilliant brilliant day with you all. We shared a box of Heroes as we talked about some tough topics and I honestly couldn’t think of a better chocolate that represents the spirit of AMC. I learned a lot about what goes on behind the scenes and wow I was blown away!
Andy’s Man Club is a Men’s Mental Health Charity, supporting men up and down the UK with their peer support confidential Monday night groups. Starting with one club in their hometown, Halifax, AMC has grown now to over 100 clubs, providing a crucial support network to men, challenging stigma and championing support for men’s mental health.
The Feedback from the training was really heart warming, with Chairman and Co-Founder Luke Ambler saying, “Sarah Henry delivered this with so much passion and some humour and it was a pleasure to spend time with such a beautiful soul who gives a shit…For anyone out there needing safeguarding training her energy is infectious and we all had an enjoyable day and the knowledge will help us all moving forward.”
We will continue to support them as our chosen charity and look forward to seeing them soon.
if you would like to find out more about Andy’s Man Club at their website here.
And don’t forget the clubs are completely confidential, every Monday at 7pm in various locations (except bank holidays) so why not pop down for a brew? You are sure to find a friendly smile and a cup of tea waiting for you .
