We are delighted to be one of only a handful of DfE-assured suppliers in Yorkshire providing Senior Mental Health Lead Training for Beginners.   Our course has met the DfE quality criteria to deliver grant funded Senior Mental Health Lead training.

We are delivering this training in partnership with our training associate Jayne James of Jayne James Training, who is a SafeTALK instructor and fellow MHFA instructor with extensive experience.

Our course includes 3 full days of face-to-face training, 6 peer support twilight sessions, and 1-2-1 coaching from one of the instructors for a year.  We have places available for a maximum of 12 delegates at a time in order for us to provide a bespoke and supportive training experience.

Course places are £1200.00 each, fully inclusive of all training dates and personal coaching for one year.  DfE free grant funding is available to cover the costs in full. Please visit the DfE website (opens in new window) to apply for the DfE grant for your school or college.

We are supplier number 092 on the DfE approved list (opens in new window) and our course is suitable for all settings.

Testimonials:

“I read through about 20 different SMHL training programmes the reason I was attracted to this was because it was local to Wakefield and with it being a face to face programme I felt that it was more personal. I was so pleased I chose this course the trainers have fantastic knowledge and experience with mental health both in a school and out of school. The support we have been given has been amazing. I would definitely recommend this course.”

“This course has been the best course I have been on in over 20 years of teaching. The relaxed style of learning needs to be the way forward for all training. The environment contributed to this and the ‘treasures’ in the room at Nostell Priory! I feel like I am a better person and I feel more able to help others by signposting them to where they can get help or support. I met wonderful people in the group – the trainers and the other participants who all shared their passion and enthusiasm for wellbeing, which is so important and inspirational for us all thankyou SHS!”

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.
